Continuous progress, improvement and constant innovation in shopfitting solutions are the hallmarks of Cefla Shopfitting.

The whole history of Cefla passes through continuous processes of technological innovation of the product.

The origins of the Cefla Shopfitting date back to 1932, when the company was founded as a cooperative organisation specialised in electric and thermohydraulic plant systems.

During the 1950s the Commercial Shop Equipment division of Cefla came into being. The first metal shelving systems were produced.

During the early 1960s, having gained experience in the fields of working sheet metal and ventilation and heating, Cefla started to build the first finishing spray booths and linear ovens for drying finished panels.

During the early 1970s the internationalisation process began and the first Cefla branch in France was created.
Production of barrier checkouts for large-scale retail trade started in the early 1980s, becoming a benchmark system for payment systems. During the same period the international strategies became consolidated thanks to the opening of a Spanish branch of Cefla.

Around the year 2000, the Futura range of checkouts was created to be used at barrier checkouts all over the world, creating a global standard for production.

In the same period, Cefla Shopfitting became the first company in its field to obtain the ISO9001/2000 quality certification, which guarantees that client satisfaction is the main objective of the whole organisation.

During the first decade of this century, Cefla kept up the continuous innovation of the product, designing and creating shelving, covered by international patents, which ensure space saving in the display areas of the sales outlets and provide practical and ergonomic checkouts.

In 2014 Cefla acquires Filomarket, an Italian company specialised in shopping trolleys' production.

Nowadays the Cefla Shopfitting is a consolidated international multi-field organisation, a benchmark company for commercial shop equipment, thanks also to its highly specialised subsidiary companies:

  • Zenith R.S.: company that specialises in commercial furniture in Russia.
  • Cefla Retail Design: that operates as a design studio focused on the retail and hospitality sector, both food and non-food
